The terms on which you may use the GoldenTrail website and the educational content we publish. Please read them before relying on anything you find here.

Everything on GoldenTrail is general educational content. It is not veterinary, medical or professional advice and must not be relied on as such. Always consult a registered veterinarian about your individual animal’s health, and independently verify any information before acting on it. If your animal is unwell or in distress, contact your vet or an emergency animal hospital immediately.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GoldenTrail website at goldentrailgroup.com (the "site"). By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. About the service

GoldenTrail is an independent Australian publisher of pet care education. We provide articles, guides and general reference material about responsible pet ownership. We are not a veterinary clinic, a shop, or a provider of professional services, and we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe for any animal. The site offers information only.

3. Content is not veterinary advice

The content on this site is general in nature and does not take into account your circumstances or those of your individual animal. It is not a substitute for advice from a registered veterinarian or other qualified professional. You should always seek the advice of a registered veterinarian with any questions about your animal’s health, behaviour, nutrition or care, and you should verify any information before acting on it. Never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you have read here.

4. No professional relationship

Your use of the site does not create any veterinary, professional, advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and GoldenTrail. We do not provide individual recommendations and cannot be responsible for decisions you make about your animals.

5. Accuracy & no warranties

We take care to ensure our content is accurate and up to date at the time of publishing, but pet care knowledge evolves and individual circumstances differ. To the extent permitted by law, the site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoldenTrail and its contributors will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or injury (including to any animal) arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the relevant information again.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the site — including text, illustrations, graphics, logos and the GoldenTrail name — is owned by or licensed to GoldenTrail and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share the content for personal, non-commercial use with appropriate attribution. You may not reproduce, republish, sell or exploit any content commercially without our prior written permission.

8. Acceptable use

When using the site you agree not to:

  • use it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;

The site may contain links to third-party websites and resources. We provide these for convenience only and do not endorse or accept responsibility for their content, products or practices. Accessing third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy. By using the site you acknowledge those policies.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You and GoldenTrail submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts competent to hear appeals from them.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always appear on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised. Your continued use of the site after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
